Dr. Bharat Shah
Dr. Bharat Shah is currently the Chairman and Chief Executive
Officer of Noble Investment Group, Ltd, a privately held,
Atlanta based hotel ownership, management and development
company Dr. Shah founded in 1979. In his responsibilities
as CEO, Dr. Shah oversees and manages the strategic growth
of Noble owned portfolio of hotels valued over $200 Million
representing 2,600 guestrooms and hotels under management
totaling 65 hotels, representing 6,000 guestrooms. In his
role a member of the Board of Advisors, Dr. Shah guides
investment decisions made by the Fund.
Dr. Shah earned his Master's degree in Food Science and
Technology from the University of Tennessee - Knoxville
and subsequently his PhD in the same field from Utah State
University in Logan, Utah. Dr. Shah began his professional
career in 1971 with RJR Nabisco as a research scientist.
In his nine-year career with RJR Nabisco, Bharat held numerous
positions including his last position as Director of Quality
Control for North American Operations.
Regarded as a 'serial entrepreneur' by his contemporaries,
Dr. Shah was involved in no less than a dozen new ventures
from the late 1960's to 1979. Dr. Shah acquired his first
hotel in summer of 1979; in early 1980, Dr. Shah resigned
from RJR Nabisco to pursue the American dream in the hospitality
industry. Through out the 1980's and early 1990's Dr. Shah
continued to expand his real estate holdings and became
active in numerous government and business oriented associations.
Dr. Shah has held leadership positions in numerous industry
organizations and believes the civic duty of business leaders
is to give back to the community and the industry. A few
of Dr. Shah's professional accomplishments include:
- Board of Director, Gwinnett County Georgia - Chamber
of Commerce, Board Term Expiring 2007
- Commissioner, Asian American Commission for a New Georgia,
2003 - 2004; Appointment by the Governor of Georgia, the
